Blizzard just gave players their first look at the boss fight with Lilith in Diablo 4. While no one will be surprised to see Lilith become a boss in Diablo 4, seeing the battle itself in action is just as exciting for players looking forward to the action in this role-playing game.
Less than three weeks before Diablo 4’s release — and just over two weeks before Early Access began — Blizzard has shared a launch trailer featuring brand new gameplay for the upcoming ARPG. A new Diablo 4 shot set to Billie Eilish’s “You Should See Me In a Crown” shows off new parts of the game in a way reminiscent of the blockbuster.
Some of the enemies, locations, and bosses featured in the trailer will be familiar to players who played the Diablo 4 beta, but others will be brand new. Masses of flesh priests, hordes of monsters traversing lava flows, and hordes of ogre-like demons battle the ill-fated heroes of Diablo 4. However, the star of the show is Lilith. While she is, unsurprisingly, featured several times in the trailer, her in-game model can be seen using her signature crimson magic for a few seconds in what appears to be a temple at the 1:20 mark. This could be the first look at Lilith’s boss fight, or at least one of her main appearances in the game.
This short clip showcases some of the abilities and ultimates available to classes in Diablo 4, as well as some cool outfits created through its powerful transmogrification system. Many of these abilities showcase advanced techniques not available to players at the level-25 cap of the Diablo 4 beta. Several parts of the trailer also showcase the customizable mount system in Diablo 4, including new footage of special attacks that characters can perform while mounted.
Some fans were taken aback by Billie Eilish in the trailer. Most fans expected music from Diablo itself, and were surprised to hear a song from pop culture. That said, the song’s lyrics fit surprisingly well with Lilith and her story in Diablo, and many were impressed by how well it fit together — especially artists and fans of the game.
Early Access for Diablo 4 is coming. If players pre-ordered the non-standard edition of Diablo IV, they will be able to sneak into the Vault on June 2, four days before launch. If this trailer is any indication of what awaits players in Diablo 4, they’re in for an intense journey, no matter when they start playing.
Diablo 4 is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on June 6.
