Fallout 4 Player Reaches Level 100 Before Ever Entering Diamond City

A Fallout 4 player managed to reach level 100 without entering Diamond City. The Diamond City area in Fallout 4 is such a huge focal point of the game’s main content that it’s hard to imagine a gaming experience without it.

Bethesda games are known for giving players complete freedom in how they play. It’s been a unique selling point for games for years, and remains one of those years when the studio’s games are often played years after their original release date. While some of Fallout 4’s features were criticized at launch for limiting role-playing potential, such as voice-over protagonists, that hasn’t stopped players from finding new ways to explore the Commonwealth, even if players sometimes have to self-impose limitations, like this user have.

Redditor andreworr2402 posted images of their incredible challenge online, showing their level 100 character interacting with Piper outside of Diamond City, suggesting they never even entered. According to users, every single DLC and side quest was complete before then, meaning the Diamond City content was all they had left of that playthrough. There’s definitely a lot to do outside of the Diamond City-centric Fallout 4 main story, but getting to level 100 with no main quest XP is a feat, and one that’s sure to take a lot of grinding to get there .

A few people in the thread were trying to poke holes in the story, wondering how they were able to accomplish certain elements without going into the city. One player wondered how they could complete Far Harbor without talking to Ellie, however, another user offered a solution to the puzzle. In short, Fallout 4 offers enough options for players to complete content without having to enter Diamond City. This certainly speaks to the solid work Bethesda put into the RPG’s development process.

Diamond City is undoubtedly an iconic location in the Fallout universe. Its unique design is instantly eye-catching and is everything a player could want from a city in an RPG. Gamers will hope that whatever Bethesda has in store for Fallout 5, the studio will be able to create similarly iconic areas that will be worth exploring for many years to come. Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 will still be out first, and it’s going to be a long wait before that happens, but gamers can rest assured that Bethesda’s Todd Howard has discussed the game’s existence in the past.

Fallout 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions coming in 2023.
